Martinique Mega Supermarket Chain Mission for TIC 2010
Martinique will be fielding a special trade mission comprised of buyers from the country’s major supermarket chains at this year’s Trade & Investment Convention (TIC 2010), which takes place from May 19, 22.
The Buyer Mission, which will include representatives from more than ten companies, is being organised by the Martinique Chamber of Commerce, which says its Buyers “hope to find quality products to supply the country’s own markets that also meet the requirements of European Markets in terms of labels and packaging.” The Martinique Chamber has been working closely with the Trinidad and Tobago Manufacturers’ Association, hosts of TIC 2010, to organise the Buyer Mission.
Martinique’s Buyers are seeking to find companies at TIC 2010 “that have products ready to export to European French Markets and are interested in meeting suppliers that can supply supermarkets mainly food and beverages, but also others with quality products to offer” to supermarket chains.
“TIC is one of the places to come,” says the Martinique Chamber, “first to experience the new trends in terms of business for both goods and services and, secondly to learn more on what the Trinidad and Tobago internal market has to offer and its capacity to answer supply and demand and the Region.”
To date, Martinique’s business with Trinidad and Tobago has been in the energy, construction automotive and beverage sectors, and Mission organisers believe this TIC 2010 experience “will blow away most of the misconceptions of what participants might assume to know about the country….the key success to our presence at TIC will be the Trinbagonian manufacturers’ preparedness to supply and respond to the need of the French European Market.” News Archive >> |
