Brazil to host 20 Company Pavilion at TIC 2010

The Embassy of Brazil will host a large Country Pavilion of 20 companies at this year’s Trade & Investment Convention. Brazilian businesses will showcase products ranging from roof tiles, to electrical materials, furniture, jewellery, civil construction, food, clothes and much more.

“It’s no secret that “TIC is the best commercial event in Trinidad and Tobago and perhaps in the Caribbean,” says Mr. George Ramos, of the Embassy of Brazil in Trinidad and Tobago, “It is also important to note that Trinidad and Tobago is Brazil's most important commercial partner in the region - including Central America. Therefore, it is natural that Brazilian companies have an interest in coming here to showcase their products.” Brazil and Trinidad and Tobago enjoyed bilateral trade amounting to more than US$500 million in 2009.

Brazil has been a regular participant in TIC and has hosted pavilions on the tradeshow floor for more than six years. According to Mr. Ramos, “This is a different year; the whole world is leaving behind the traumatic recession of 2008 and building up confidence again. It is hard to predict anything, but, the organisers of TIC went ahead and faced the crisis, and manufacturers and consumers must do the same. There is no other choice.”

TIC will take place from May 19 to 22 at the Hyatt Regency Trinidad, and is hosted by the Trinidad and Tobago Manufacturers’ Association, The Ministry of Trade and Industry, First Citizens, TSTT, and bmobile and BlackBerry.
